Interview with Paula Vazquez Caetano Guerra

“My coffee passion started here, at Stockler — I didn’t even drink coffee before!” says Paula Caetano. Growing up in Santos, where coffee has always been key, she adds: “Once you enter this world, you never want to leave.”

She’s been part of NKG for 20 years, starting in the Quality Department as back office while studying Law. “After graduating I became Executive Assistant to the board. In 2018, I also took on the role of Compliance Representative — and it’s been an amazing journey so far.”

What keeps her motivated? “Every day is different — I’m always learning something new. The legal landscape changes daily and brings new areas to explore, which keeps things exciting and never routine.” And if given the chance for a job swap? “I would love to spend time with our Compliance team in Africa, to learn from their daily challenges and different perspective.”

What has been your most impressive journey so far – and what made it so special?

My most impressive journey has been both personal and professional – being a mother and growing in my career. Each has shaped who I am today, teaching me resilience, empathy, and the value of continuous learning.

How do you like to drink your coffee and in which situation? (For example, a Café Latte in a nice café on weekends, an Espresso at work …)

I’m a big fan of filtered coffee – I start my day with a large mug, have another when I get to the office, and one more after lunch. That last cup is truly essential! And I must say, I’m also a big cappuccino fan.

What makes you laugh a lot – even on stressful days?

Everyday situations make me laugh. Like most Brazilians, I can always find humor even in tough moments – we solve the problem, but we’ll definitely make a joke or a meme about it afterwards.

If you had a superpower for one day – what would it be and what would you do?

If I could read minds for a day, I’d use it to truly understand what people think and feel – it would make communication easier, deeper and more meaningful.

What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received, and who gave it to you?

One of the best pieces of advice I’ve ever received came from a former boss, who told me to take a moment before answering – to think, understand, and research first. It’s simple advice, but it truly changed the way I communicate and make decisions.
