Faces and Portraits
From NKG Integrity Champion to NKG O.S.C.A.R.: Regina Monserrat

Starting this edition, we’re proud to introduce a new title for those who go above and beyond in promoting ethical conduct and responsibility: the O.S.C.A.R. – Outstanding Supporter of Compliance and Responsibility.

Inspired by one of the most glamorous and iconic trophies in the world, our O.S.C.A.R. celebrates star-quality performance. At NKG, it’s not on a stage, but in the everyday work of integrity, courage, and commitment. This change reflects a broader view of what integrity means in our organization. It’s not just about following rules, it’s about shaping culture, supporting colleagues, and making compliance a shared value.

The O.S.C.A.R. honors individuals who embody these principles and help make NKG a safer, fairer, and more respectful place to work.

The O.S.C.A.R. 2025 goes to … Regina Monserrat

In every organization, there are individuals whose unwavering commitment shapes its character. Regina is one of them; unafraid to stand firm for what she believes in. With a rare blend of empathy, diligence, and assertiveness, she has become a cornerstone of the company’s compliance culture—earning her the first-ever O.S.C.A.R. title: Outstanding Supporter of Compliance and Responsibility.

Since 2004, Regina cultivates awareness in her commitment to regular refresher trainings on working standards, health and safety, and human rights. She sees these training sessions as opportunities to reinforce values that keep people safe, respected, and empowered. In doing so, she helps embed compliance into Fazendas Brasileiras’ DNA – not as a checklist, but as a shared mindset.

Her influence is especially felt in spaces where inclusion is still evolving. In a predominantly male environment, Regina ensures that women’s voices are not only heard but actively considered. She persistently advocates for equity, making sure that no one feels overlooked. Her colleagues describe her as a trusted confidante; someone who listens without judgment and acts with integrity.

For many years, Regina has been an invaluable Compliance Representative. Recently, while her formal role may have evolved, she continues to serve as a vital bridge between employees and leadership. During her regular visits across the farm, she listens and observes. When challenges arise, she is committed to ensuring that every voice is heard and collaborates with management to find solutions. One of her most impactful contributions has been the expansion of anonymous suggestion boxes, giving every employee a safe channel to speak up.

Grievance mechanisms are often seen as formalities. Regina makes them human. She understands that trust is built not just through policies, but through presence. By strengthening these systems and making them accessible, she fosters a culture where transparency and accountability thrive. Her work reminds us that compliance is first and foremost about relationships.

Regina’s portrait is one of decisive and purpose-driven leadership. In honoring her as our O.S.C.A.R., we celebrate not just what she does, but who she is, and the values she helps us live every day.
